Dubbo Regional Council is proud to announce that the City has been chosen as the host for the NSW Touch Junior State Cup in 2025 and 2026.

The event attracts competitors, supporters and officials from across northern New South Wales with competition starting for ages 10 years and under, through to Under 18 years.

Thousands of players will span more than 30 touch football fields and the venue, Lady Cutler Sporting Precinct, is expected to host more than 10,000 people over the course of the event, 21-23 February 2025.

INFORMATION FOR BUSINESSES

What has been lauded the largest mass participation event ever held in Dubbo, the Junior State Cup will attract thousands of visitors. Whilst the focus of the visit will be on the competition taking place at Lady Cutler Sporting Precinct, hundreds of families will be looking to purchase groceries, book a table for dinner and experience our attractions and activities.

If your business provides goods or services to the visitor market, please be aware that you may experience an increase in demand 21-23 February 2025.

INFORMATION FOR RESIDENTS

From 21 to 23 February 2025 the Dubbo Region warmly welcomes some 10,000 participants, officials and spectators as part of the NSW Touch Junior State Cup.

Residents may experience changes to traffic conditions, including road closures, to support the expected congestion.

Temporary road closures from 7pm, 20 February – 7pm, 23 February:

  • Sandy Beach Road; from Ian Drake Drive to South Street
  • Bligh Street from Bultje Street to Macquarie Street
  • Ian Drake Drive; from Bligh Street to Sandy Beach
  • South Street; from Bligh Street to Tamworth Street

Temporary road closures between 5am – 7pm (daily) - 21 February to 23 February:

  • Tamworth Street; from South Street to Macquarie Street (daily from 5am to 7pm)
  • Tamworth Street; from Macquarie Street to Brisbane Street (daily from 5am to 7pm)
  • Macquarie Street; from Cobra Street to Tamworth Street Macquarie Street residents only)

Motorists in the South Dubbo area are advised to avoid Macquarie Street and use Brisbane Street or Darling Street to access the CBD.

Unless accessing services in this area, motorists are asked to avoid the intersection at Bligh Street and Bultje Street.

Variable Message Signs will be in place prior to the event, displaying messages to support changes to traffic conditions.
