DUBBO REGIONAL COUNCIL PROUD TO SUPPORT NAIDOC WEEK 2024

Dubbo Regional Council (DRC) is proud to be continuing its support of NAIDOC Week and the Dubbo NAIDOC Committee, with $25,000 in funding assistance going to several celebrations happening across Dubbo.

These celebrations include the NAIDOC Flag Raising ceremony and morning tea, celebrations in Victoria Park and the Dubbo Community NAIDOC Ball.

The theme for NAIDOC Week 2024 is Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud & Proud.

The theme honours the enduring strength and vitality of First Nations culture – with fire a symbol of connection to Country, to each other, and to the rich tapestry of traditions that define Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Dubbo Regional Council Mayor Mathew Dickerson said Council was honoured to be assisting in NAIDOC Week 2024 celebrations across the region.

“Council is always proud to help support NAIDOC Week activities and I am looking forward to taking part in some of the activities that are happening in Dubbo this week.”

“I encourage the whole community to get involved in these celebrations,” Clr Dickerson said.

Council is also supporting NAIDOC Week celebrations in Wellington from 16 – 20 September 2024 with $15,000 financial support.

NAIDOC Week 2024 is celebrated between 7-14 July.
