Dubbo Regional Council is in the heart of the Central West Orana Renewable Energy Zone. It will be the first operational Renewable Energy Zone in New South Wales, unlock 4.5 GW of new network capacity from 2028 onwards.

New transmission infrastructure will enable participating generators (such as solar and wind farms) to export electricity to the rest of the network.

The project is expected to attract up to $20 billion in private investment to the Central West Orana Region by 2030, and support 5,000 construction jobs at its peak.
