JESSICA BROWN TAKES ON LEADERSHIP ROLE WITH DRC

Jessica Brown has been appointed as the Director Strategy Partnership and Engagement with Dubbo Regional Council (DRC).

Ms Brown started in the role and with Council at the end of July and brings with her over 20 years of experience building connections and capabilities across regional NSW.

“I am personally very excited to have Jessica on board our team,” DRC CEO Murray Wood said.

“Jessica’s deep ties to our region, strong track record of collaboration with key government and community stakeholders and her ability to synthesise complex issues into clear vision and strategies makes her uniquely qualified to lead the Strategy, Partnerships and Engagement division of Council,” Mr Wood said.

The Strategy, Partnerships and Engagement division was created in 2022 to assist in developing the relationship between community and Council as an organisation, making sure engagement and communications between the two were transparent and informative.

“It is extremely important that Council has the community and our residents and businesses at the forefront of each decision we make, and Jessica’s strengths make her the right person to continue the leadership of this division,” Mr Wood said.

Ms Brown has been a key player in policy areas including health, transport, education and training.

She was General Manager of Strategic Priorities at Marathon Health and has worked in both communications and stakeholder engagement roles with Roads and Maritime Services and the Local Land Services.

“I am excited to to lead the Strategy Partnerships and Engagement Team,” Ms Brown said.

“This team is a key element for the organisation in understanding challenges, creating solutions and bringing in new ideas for the region.

“I look forward to working with this team to deliver meaningful change that will directly benefit the community into the future and make lasting positive impacts,” Ms Brown said.

Part of Ms Brown’s role will be the oversight of key partnerships between Council and other organisations that provide long term benefit to the community, including the REACT program.
