NATIONAL FAMILY DAY CARE WEEK SEES LOCAL EDUCATORS AWARDED FOR SERVICE

Dubbo Regional Council’s (DRC) Dubbo Family Day Care is recognising National Family Day Care Week 2024 with activities aimed at celebrating the crucial work that child educators play in the care and development of the region’s children.

As part of the week, numerous educators are being recognised for their long-term dedication to the daycare service. Educators being recognised for their service include:

  • Renae Day (10 years)
  • Ashika Perera (15 Years)
  • Linda Masterton (20 years)
  • Jenny Hazell (25 years)
  • Deb Teale (25 Years)
  • Lisa Catelotti (30 years)

Other educators are also celebrating their one- and five-year anniversaries.

Family Day Care Educator Lisa Catelotti celebrated 30 years with the organisation, saying that seeing the children grow over time is a real privilege and primary reason she has remained in the position for so long.

“It’s always amazing to see the children learn new things, develop new skills and the joy they get when a once hard task becomes easy. Aside from that, I love having that close bond with kids and families which comes from a job like this.”

“I feel proud to be celebrating 30 years at Dubbo Family Day Care. It can be challenging at times, but extremely rewarding. I’ll always cherish the relationships I’ve built with families over the past few decades,” Ms Catelotti said.

National Family Day Care Week, which runs from 6 – 12 May 2024 nationwide, is one of the most important events on the family day care calendar, raising awareness of the vital role family day care educators, coordinators and services play in the development and wellbeing of over 75,000 children across Australia.
