DRTCC GIVEN FRESH NEW LOOK BY LOCAL LEGEND
The Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre (DRTCC) has a fresh new look following the laying of new carpet in the foyer area of the venue.
The installation of the new carpet was undertaken by Bob Crampton and his team from Crampton’s Carpets.
Mr Crampton was thrilled to be “bringing the store to the DRTCC door” once again.
“I’ve personally been involved in the carpet laying process at the DRTCC three times now, including doing the original carpet in the Civic Centre in 1996.”
“I’ve seen this facility go from strength to strength over the years and I’m proud that Crampton’s Carpets is involved in the upkeep of this much-loved and award-winning asset,” Mr Crampton said.
The new carpet has a design inspired by the Ginkgo biloba tree, which are scattered throughout the Dubbo Region, including in the adjacent Victoria Park.
Performing Arts and Venues Coordinator Tiffany Rowland said the carpet brings a fresh new look to the venue which patrons will notice straight away.
“At the DRTCC we pride ourselves on offering unforgettable experiences to our patrons. This experience doesn’t just start when you’re in your seat - it starts the moment you walk through our doors.”
“The Gingko biloba influenced design complements the venue perfectly and is a not-so-subtle nod to the beautiful trees we see across the road in Victoria Park,” Ms Rowland said.
Of the outgoing carpet, 24 per cent has been reused in other parts of the venue, including lining walkways in the ceiling bridges and fly rail areas, as well as the dressing room entrances that performers and technical staff use during productions.
Crampton’s Carpets has also been able to completely recycle 100 per cent of the outgoing underlay by returning it to the manufacturers.
