COMMUNITY INFORMATION SESSIONS AROUND THE TREE PRESERVATION ORDER ON PRIVATE PROPERTY
Dubbo Regional Council (DRC) will host two community information sessions in order to allow residents to learn more and participate in the current consultation around the Tree Preservation Order for Private Property.
The consultation will assist Council in their decision making on whether a Tree Preservation Order for Private Property should be implemented.
If implemented, the Tree Preservation Order could provide for greater protection on trees on private property in the urban areas and other native vegetation within the local government area. This Tree Preservation Order would be introduced through the State Environmental Planning Policy (Biodiversity and Conservation) 2021.
The two sessions will each have a panel consisting of the Director Community Culture and Places and the Manager Recreation and Open Spaces as well as the Manager Growth Planning.
“This is a great opportunity for members of the communities to meet with staff to discuss the Tree Preservation Order for Private Property so they have all their questions answered before they provide written submission on the item,” (DRC) Director Community Culture and Places Craig Arms said.
Registrations for the event are encouraged, with attendees asked to also register their questions before the event.
