OPPORTUNITY FOR SMALL BUSINESSES TO WORK ON THEMSELVES
Small businesses across the Dubbo Regional Local Government Area are being encouraged to take the time to work on their business during Small Business Month in October.
“The past 18 months has really shown how small business owners are struggling to do everything with nationwide skills shortages and ongoing cost escalations and inflation,” Economic Development and Visitors Services Team Leader Tim Nichols said.
“Business owners are working more hours than ever before while also not having the time to stay up-to-date with current trends or find out what support is available to assist them in this area.”
To assist local businesses Dubbo Regional Council (DRC) has partnered with the Dubbo Business Chamber to hold a Free Small Business Month event at Lazy River Estate.
The four staged event will focus on connecting businesses with experts and services through individual focus, panellist discussion, expert insights and networking.
“We are really excited to be partnering with Council to host this event to support the local business community,” Dubbo Business Chamber Executive officer Brittany Sultana said.
“The holistic approach to this event will connect participants to ideas, tools and experts and offer them focus for both themselves and their whole team.”
DRC has a number of partnerships and programs that help support local businesses including the myDubbo Region Shopping Card Business Program and the Dubbo Region Skills Portal. Both programs are free and accessible to businesses in the Local Government Area.
Opportunities to be part of strategic campaigns and programs including the upcoming Christmas Campaign which highlights Shopping Local across the Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales and through the festive seasons are also available.
The Small Business Month event will be held on Wednesday 11 October from 2pm to 7.30pm at Lazy River Estate.
This is a free event with registration required.
