PIONEER PARK TEMPORARY CLOSURE
Dubbo Regional Council will undertake works on the eastern access road into Pioneer Park in Wellington, off Showground Road from Monday 27 March 2023 for approximately two weeks, weather permitting.
During this time access to Pioneer Park will be temporarily closed between 7am – 4pm. Access will be available to Pioneer Park after 4pm daily unless otherwise notified.
Residents wishing to access Pioneer Park are asked to do so by parking in Nanima Crescent and walking across the pedestrian bridge during this time.
The works being undertaken involve widening the existing access road to allow two-way vehicle movements in and out of the complex up to the amenities facility.
As part of the required works eight desert ash trees adjacent to the entrance will be removed. These trees will be replaced with river red gums as part of the revegetation of the western portion of Pioneer Park.
This work is stage 1 of a broader program of works to enable access to the complex for the winter sport season and will restore the pedestrian link from the pedestrian bridge back through to the Showground Road. Stage 1 works are funded through the NSW Government’s Severe Weather and Flood Grant.
