BOIL WATER ALERT UPDATE, YARRANDALE RESERVOIR LIFTED

Dubbo Regional Council (DRC) has received approval from NSW Health to lift the boil water alert for properties serviced by the Yarrandale Reservoir. DRC has now lifted ten (10) out of the eleven (11) water storage reservoir zones that have been subject to the boil water alert.
The following zones are now lifted:

Eumungerie Reservoir remains on the boil water alert. This reservoir is being flushed to achieve the dilution targets agreed on by Council and NSW Health. DRC will aim to lift Eumungerie by 2 August, subject to change based on community usage and other environmental factors:
The community can go to www.dubbo.nsw.gov.au/water to check the drinking water status at their property via an interactive map.
For Eumungerie Zone:
Water used for drinking or food preparation should be brought to a rolling boil to make it safe. Kettles with automatic shut off switches can do this. Water should then be allowed to cool and stored in a clean container with a lid and refrigerated.
Everyone, particularly people caring for young children, should be careful to avoid scalding, when you are heating and then cooling the water.
Residents are advised to use cooled, boiled water or bottled water for:
· Drinking
· Brushing teeth
· Washing and preparing food or beverages
· Preparing baby formula
· Making ice
· Pet’s drinking water
Tap water may be used directly for:
· Showering and bathing (residents should minimise that amount of water taken into their mouth). As a precaution babies and toddlers should be sponge bathed
· Washing dishes by hand in hot soapy water or in a dishwasher provided dishes are air-dried before being used after washing
· Washing clothes
DRC staff continue to flush the water storage reservoirs as part of the dilution process. Residents may see volumes of water running through the storm water system. Water pressure may be impacted, and Council asks the community to be patient while this process takes place.
