MELBOURNE INTERNATIONAL COMEDY FESTIVAL COMES TO DUBBO
Join the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow in 2021 as it rolls across the country to deliver the Comedy Festival vibe to every crack and crevice of Australia. From Ballarat to Broome, Townsville to Traralgon, they’re criss-crossing the country taking in more than 80 destinations along the way. More than any year before, the comedians are champing at the bit to break out from the barriers, shake off the seclusion and roll out the laughs. And Dubbo Region residents won’t be missing out, with the roadshow stopping at the Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre (DRTCC) in just a few days’ time.
DRTCC Manager Linda Christof says the region has played host to some belly-laughing acts in recent weeks, and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival is sure to be up there with one of the funniest shows Dubbo and surrounding residents have come across.
“We’re really excited to be able to bring this hilarious show to the region. The Melbourne International Comedy Festival is one of the most well-known and popular comedy shows in the country, and to have the show coming to the Dubbo Region as one of our season shows is really great for our region,” said Ms Christof.
With an all ‘killer’, no filler line-up of Australian stars and talented newcomers, buckle in for a night of stand-up, sketch, satire, silliness and song to satisfy all your comedy cravings. The Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow will be at Dubbo Regional Theatre on the Friday 18 June with tickets available from drtcc.com.au.
The show will be hosted by Sam Taunton who will be joined by Floyd Alexander-Hunt, Nikki Britton, Randy Feltface and Takashi Wakasugi.
“I think everyone is due for a good belly laugh after the past 15 months demonstrated by the strong ticket sales for comedy generally. With recent events in Melbourne and with such a strong pool of comedic talent to draw on, the tour was able to safely proceed with a slight change in star line-up,” said Ms Christof.
Don’t forget Discover Vouchers have been extended to 31 July and can be used to purchase theatre tickets even for shows beyond that date. You’ll need to contact the Box Office directly if you want to use your vouchers.
