Groundbreaking Innovation: AMSL Aero and the future of flight
Just outside Wellington, NSW, the Bodangora Airstrip serves as an outdoor laboratory for AMSL Aero, where they are testing a long-range, zero-emission electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing (VTOL) aircraft. Resembling a helicopter yet flying like a plane, the aircraft aims to revolutionise air transport, making it more affordable and accessible, particularly in rural areas.
Co-founder Andrew Moore, inspired by his rural upbringing and aviation background, put together a team to design the aircraft that will bypass the need for traditional airstrips. It has already gained interest and support from defence, healthcare, and firefighting organisations, highlighting its wide-reaching potential.
“Being in the centre of a region that is leading the community into the future with solar panels and wind turbines and low-cost ways to develop energy means we know we are in the right place, and we are supported every step of the way.”
- Co-founder, Andrew Moore
