CLR MATHEW DICKERSON ELECTED AS MAYOR AND CLR RICHARD IVEY ELECTED AS DEPUTY MAYOR
Councillor Mathew Dickerson has been re-elected as Dubbo Regional Council’s Mayor following an open ballot of Councillors conducted at the September Ordinary Meeting of Council this evening (Thursday 28 September).
The position of Mayor was contested by Clr Mathew Dickerson and Clr Joshua Black with Clr Dickerson being elected with a vote of 7 to 3.
“I am privileged to be able to lead this Council again and I want to thank the Councillors for having faith in the work I am doing. I am proud of what this Council has achieved since being elected in 2021 as we continue to make decisions that help the Dubbo region grow and prosper,” Clr Dickerson said.
A separate ballot saw Clr Richard Ivey re-elected as Deputy Mayor for the remainder of the Council term.
The position of deputy was contested by Clr Pam Wells and Clr Richard Ivey with Clr Ivey being elected with a vote of 7 to 3
“I am honoured to be re-elected as Deputy Mayor and work closely alongside my fellow Councillors to continue to see the Dubbo Regional Local Government Area grow. It is important that all areas of the community have a voice on this Council and I feel that we are always working together for the wider community,” Clr Ivey said.
The current Councillors will be in office until September 2024 with the final council meeting of the term to be held on 15 August 2024, before caretaker period ahead of the elections.
During the meeting Councillors also determined the dates and time of meetings for the Standing Committees and the Ordinary Council meetings for the next 11 months as well as the representatives for each of the mandated committees.
The Councillor representatives on the mandated committees remained the same.
