SHARED PATHWAY WORK STARTS; AMENITIES BLOCK UNAVAILABLE

Dubbo Regional Council (DRC) advises the community the amenity block at Ollie Robbins Oval will no longer be available to the public from Thursday, 17 August.

As part of the works for the Legacy Shared Pathway, successful tender David Payne Construction will begin preparations for the beginning of construction, which will include detours and fencing around the proposed construction site.

The amenities are expected to reopen in February 2024 following the completion of the pathway.

The nearest public amenity block is located at Church Street, with the Lions Park West amenity block expected to be reopened in mid-September following completion of construction.

During the construction period it is expected the fitness node, boat ramp, river stairs, up to 350m of the Tracker Riley Shared Pathway, barbecue area, carparks surrounding Ollie Robbins Oval and Boat Ramp and the Hans Claven carpark will also be closed to the public at certain times.

Dubbo Regional Council will inform the community when these closures are expected to take place and how long these areas will be unavailable for.

The Shared Pathway Project is expected to enhance the connectivity of the riverbank precinct thanks to a $3 million grant from the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment’s NSW Public Spaces Legacy Program.

The pathway will be approximately 320 metres in length and proposes several viewing platforms over-looking the Macquarie River.

The pathway includes improved access to the boat ramp and a number of adjacent parking spaces for vehicles and trailers with construction expected to be finished in February 2024.

Further details of the works, including a map of the temporary pathway that will be established during construction, can be found on the YourSay website at https://yoursay.dubbo.nsw.gov.au/Shared-Pathway-Macquarie-River.
