COMOBELLA BRIDGE PROJECT SET TO BEGIN
Dubbo Regional Council (DRC) advises residents that works will start on the Comobella Bridge construction project on Monday 12 August 2024.
The initial works will include construction of the road approaches, and will be completed in October 2024, weather permitting.
Bridge construction will occur from late October 2024, with completion slated for April 2025, weather permitting.
Saxa Road remains closed to non-local traffic, with exception for vehicles with destinations on Saxa Road. To ensure the safe construction of the bridge and its approaches, Saxa Road will be fully closed between the Comobella Road /Saxa Road intersection and the Wongajong Lane / Saxa Road intersection.
A Local Traffic Detour route will be in place for the length of the works with exceptions for residents whose properties are within the closure area.
The Comobella Bridge joins Burrendong Bridge No.1 and Molong Street Bridge in receiving reconstruction works in 2024/2025.
A total of $2,779,322 in funding from the Australian Government’s Bridges Renewal Program has been allocated to this project.
