DUBBO AND WELLINGTON PEDESTRIAN ACCESS AND MOBILITY PLAN

Dubbo Regional Council (DRC) is developing a new Dubbo and Wellington Pedestrian Access and Mobility Plan (PAMP), and residents are invited to have their say.

The Dubbo and Wellington PAMP will reflect current strategic priorities and outcomes identified by the community and will enhance pedestrian and cyclist access and mobility in these areas.

The PAMP will also bring a range of benefits to residents in Dubbo and Wellington, including the promotion of healthy transportation methods, liveability, and sustainability.

Manager Infrastructure Strategy and Design Mark Johnston said the plan will provide crucial strategic direction for Council and he encourages everyone to provide feedback.

“The success of the Dubbo and Wellington PAMP depends on the input from our community.”

“Council wants to hear from residents about what works well, what type of infrastructure they want to see, which areas they want to be able to walk or cycle in, and importantly, which areas currently have accessibility and safety issues,” Mr Johnston said.

“Residents can voice their opinions by going to the project’s YourSay page and completing a quick survey, which will also allow them to pinpoint areas of issue on a map.”

“We will also be doing community pop-ups in October so that the community can speak to us directly,” Mr Johnston said.

Consultation will close on Monday 11 November 2024.

Following consultation, a plan will be created before being presented to an Ordinary Meeting of Council to be endorsed for public exhibition for further community input.

The new Dubbo and Wellington PAMP replaces both the 2016 Dubbo Pedestrian Access and Mobility Plan and the 2014 Wellington Pedestrian Access and Mobility Plan, ensuring that a consolidated strategic direction is developed and implemented across the Local Government Area.
