NOMINATIONS NOW OPEN FOR SPORTS AWARDS
Nominations are now open for the 2024 Dubbo Regional Sports Awards, which recognise the outstanding achievements of sportspeople from Dubbo and Wellington.
The Dubbo Regional Sports Awards are a joint initiative of the Dubbo Regional Sports Council, Dubbo Regional Council, Federal Member of Parkes Mark Coulton and Federal Member for Calare Andrew Gee.
The Dubbo Region Sports Awards recognise Dubbo and Wellington’s most talented sportspeople.
Nominations are open for three different categories:
- Individual or Team Achievements: such as national or state representation of your association as a player, coach, referee, umpire, or official. This may include NSW Country / NSW State / National Competition success or high-level single performance such as Australian or State record.
- Individual Contribution to Sport: by an individual, including coaches, referees, umpires and administrators with a minimum of five years of service.
- Community Contribution to Sport: by an organisation, media organisation, or sponsor to a particular sporting event, facility, or continuous support over a minimum of five years.
“Last year we had sports such as basketball, athletics, swimming, ranch sorting, karate and lawn bowls represented to name a few. There were over 15 different sports represented at the awards and we are now calling for nominations for the 2024 Dubbo Regional Sports Awards,” Dubbo Regional Council Recreation Coordinator, Tracey Whillock said.
“The awards are a great opportunity to recognise both individuals and teams in our community who have excelled in their chosen sporting field.”
“Members of the sporting community are encouraged to nominate individuals and teams from their association or club that meet the criteria for the awards,” Mrs Whillock said.
The presentation of Dubbo Regional Sports Awards will be held on Friday 22 November 2024 from 6pm at the Dubbo RSL Club.
The Dubbo Regional Sports Awards are sponsored by Dubbo RSL Club and the Dubbo Photo News.
Nominations forms are available at www.dubbo.nsw.gov.au or by contacting Dubbo Regional Council’s Recreation Coordinator Tracey Whillock on 6801 4000.
Nominations close on Friday 20 September 2024.
