GET READY TO CELEBRATE YOUTH WEEK 2025

Have you ever wanted to get up close and personal with a reptile? Or test your speed in a sleeping bag race? If so, you're in luck. These are just two of the exciting activities planned in Dubbo and Wellington as part of Youth Week 2025.

The Youth Week celebrations promise to be filled with fun and unique experiences designed to engage and inspire young people in the community aged between 12 – 24 years.

Youth Week 2025 will be celebrated from 9 - 17 April 2025. This year's theme is We are the future, and the future is now!

Dubbo Regional Council's Youth Development Officer Charmaine Mara said, Youth Week 2025 is a chance for the community to recognise young people's positive contributions to the region.

"Our young people are some of the most passionate and dedicated members of the community," Ms Mara said.

"Youth Week is the perfect time to take a moment, celebrate them and encourage them to showcase their unique strengths, skills and qualities, which is a big part of this year's theme."

Dubbo Regional Council's Youth Council has collaborated with staff and external youth services to organise multiple activities and stalls to make sure there is something for everyone.

"Given that Youth Week 2025 is also about young people recognising their future power as leaders and decision-makers, a big shout out goes to the Youth Council, who volunteer their time and have been key in planning this year's events; we really appreciate their efforts," Ms Mara said.

To become a member of the Youth Council, contact the Youth Development Officer on 02 6801 4000, or visit the Dubbo Regional Council website and select the 'Community Committees' tab.
