HAVE YOUR SAY ON THE COMMUNITY SAFETY CRIME PREVENTION PLAN
Dubbo Regional Council (DRC) is inviting community members to provide feedback on the draft 2025-2029 Community Safety and Crime Prevention Plan that is now on public exhibition.
The plan was developed over the past year in collaboration with community members and key stakeholders offering a whole-of-community approach when it comes to community safety. The plan outlines the actions that will be undertaken by Council in the future to assist in providing a safer community for our residents.
The plan details the strategic approach to enhancing community safety, reducing crime and fostering collaboration between residents, businesses and key stakeholder agencies such as law enforcement.
It includes key initiatives focusing on crime prevention through environmental design, community partnerships, youth engagement and support services.
DRC Mayor Josh Black said all community members should have their say on the Community Safety and Crime Prevention Plan.
“I have had many people speak to me about crime in Dubbo, and this plan highlights the ways that Council will make a real difference in this space.
“The actions in the plan set three focus areas which include creating safe public spaces and places, building partnerships and participation, and community education and awareness as well as detailing the role of Council and the years in which the actions will be undertaken.”
Clr Black said the plan is a reflection of the shared commitment our community has to building a safer, stronger and more connected community.
“We encourage residents, business and local organisations to provide feedback to ensure it reflects the priorities and concerns of our community, especially those who assisted staff over the past year during the development of the plan,” Clr Black said.
The draft 2025-2029 Community Safety and Crime Prevention Plan is now on public exhibition and available for viewing on the YourSay page, https://yoursay.dubbo.nsw.gov.au/community-safety-and-crime-prevention-plan. Community members are invited to provide written feedback by 9am, Monday 3 March 2025.
