FIRST MAJOR SHOW TO UTILISE UPGRADED WELLINGTON CIVIC CENTRE
The Wellington community will be able to experience the recently-upgraded Wellington Civic Centre, when they attend Brass Monkeys on Saturday 10 April at 11am and 2pm. From the creators of Children are Stinky, the Brass Monkeys show is an exciting, action-packed circus spectacular.
“This show is really fun, and we can’t wait for the kids, and adults, to see this performance. It’s bursting with high calibre acrobatics, loads of comedy, live music and high-flying tricks. It’s perfect for young kids and grown-ups who like a big brass belly laugh,” said Manager of Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre, Linda Christof.
Performed by Kyle Raftery and April Dawson from Lunar Circus and Circus Oz, the show can’t be missed. The artists are famous for combining circus skills of epic proportion and comedy for all ages. And the performance will also be taking advantage of the latest upgrades to the Wellington Civic Centre – the first show of its kind to visit since the changes.
“Wellington Civic Centre has new stage lighting and sound system thanks to the NSW Government’s Strong Country Communities Fund (SCCF) and with the challenges 2020 brought us, it will be great for our technicians to showcase the equipment for our first live performance in Wellington. If this production is warmly received and supported by the community we have a few other shows we would like to present in Wellington including well-known comedians,” said Manager DRTCC, Linda Christof.
Ms Christof says if you are visiting Wellington, make a day of it and enjoy the many attractions on offer, including the Wellington Caves, take a walk along the Bell River, or make your way to Cameron Park to experience the new playground.
“Being school holidays and with plenty of visitors to the region, it’s great to be able to offer live performance to throw in the mix of holiday activities. This show was chosen specifically for the design and layout of the Wellington Civic Centre and now with capacity at 100% for entertainment venues – no one will miss out,” said Ms Christof.
The 60-minute family show will appeal to children three years and over as well as some subtly mature comedy for the not-so-young.
There are two performances on offer. Tickets to Brass Monkeys can be purchased in person at the Box Office in Dubbo or as an e-ticket via phone (02) 6801 4378, or by visiting the website drtcc.com.au. There will also be a temporary Box Office at Wellington Civic Centre on Thursday 8 and Friday 9 April from 10am-3pm to purchase tickets.
